I cried out to you, O Lord. I begged the Lord for mercy, saying, "What will you gain if I die, if I sink into the grave? Can my dust praise you? Can it tell of your faithfulness? (Psalm 30:8, 9 NLT)
Nobody wants to die, not even the Psalmist himself. It's a natural human desire for us to fight to live for as long as we can. We all want to celebrate as many days as possible with our loved ones and friends in this life. But, isn't it comforting and consoling to know that when God calls our appointment with death that we have a home with Him in Heaven?
