But as the believers rapidly multiplied, there were rumblings of discontent. The Greek-speaking believers complained about the Hebrew-speaking believers, saying that their widows were being discriminated against in the daily distribution of food. (Acts 6:1 NLT)
Wherever there are people there will always be problems. The early church was growing so quickly that a significant rift was developing within the congregation. Some people think that a "good church" is one where there are never any struggles or difficulties...where it's peaceful all the time. The truth is...where ever God is at work there will almost always be conflicts and problems to resolve. That's the reality of working with people who all have a fallen human nature.
