There have been many since the first century that have tried to prevent the spread of the Word of God. But, you can no more "chain" the Gospel than you can stop the rain or snow. Anti-Christian movements through history have actually facilitated the spread of the Gospel, not stopped it! Even if you imprison every preacher...God's work will go on and He will accomplish His purpose.
