Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14 NLT)
It’s not always easy to “live a holy life” surrounded by the evils of this age. There are multiple challenges and temptations constantly trying to pull us away from God’s intended ideals. That’s why He twice says to “work at” doing the things He commands. The Christian life can only be lived with the help of God, but we have to cooperate together with Him in the process.
